This article introduces a series of packaging buyers and manufacturers statements illustrating the results of the 2011 Packaging Observatory, a survey carried out by Goudlink/ MRCC on behalf of EMBALLAGE.
Confidence is clearly displayed:
To the question "What are your production prospects in volume in France for the medium term (2012-2014)? " 64% of 368 surveyed packaging buyers replied they expect an increase in their production against 57% in 2010, a figure already ambitious enough to mark a return to optimism.
One quarter of other respondents rely on stability. Only 3% expect a decrease in production, a percentage cut in half compared to last year.
This positive outlook seems to be encouraged by an increase in planned production volumes despite today's global economic crisis.

"For our sector of activity, the outlook seems promising. Like most of our colleagues, our company has recorded healthy sales growth. Barring a mega crisis ahead, the current economic situation does not seem to be having as great an impact as in 2008 when we were just emerging from a buying spree. Exports therefore felt the crunch, which is not likely to be the case now...."
