Interview with Simone BALDIN, Export Area Manager of Taghleef Industries S.p.A - Italy
The Taghleef group has enjoyed continuous growth since 2006, the year of its foundation, so that now it has already achieved a global dimension. This allows it to offer its customers a vast range of solutions while always being able to propose an agent for the client to turn to locally. The new 8.7m BoPP line, due for production start-up on the Egyptian site, will make it possible to respond even more rapidly to market demand.
The world of packaging has always been, and continues to be today, in a permanent state of development. Protecting foodstuffs and respecting the environment are two fundamentals on which the entire industry is currently working and cooperating hard in order to meet the needs of producers and consumers. On the one hand, there is the continuous research into "reduced-impact" structures and film and, on the other, the research into packaging that helps keep food fresh. These are two key imperatives on which the R&D labs are working and where Taghleef is at the vanguard.
Despite being a young corporate group, Taghleef has been able to fully exploit the know-how and wisdom of its component companies. With regard to the issue of sustainability, the Group is pursuing two lines of development: 1) NATIVIA™ film, which is derived entirely from renewable sources and is biodegradable according to standard EN 13432 (the benchmark for those wishing to use environmentally-friendly film); 2) a new range of high-barrier films impermeable to oxygen, flavours and water vapour: EXTENDO. All these films are chlorine-free and offer a host of benefits that we shall be inviting our customers to discover for themselves at our stand.
